Priority Issues
My campaign logo—Seaside outlined with my name inside—reflects my belief that leadership should be rooted in community. Too many voices are being overlooked: volunteers go unrecognized, city employees aren’t consulted, and residents struggle to be heard. It’s time for open collaboration between the people and their mayor. Together, we can create a more inclusive, accessible, and responsive government that truly serves Seaside.

Goals
I've outlined clear goals and actions I'm ready to take to serve the people of Seaside and address what matters most to our community.
Actions to increase citizen involvement
I will hold a yearly ceremony to recognize citizens who serve on the City's commissions. We will place formal recommendations from the commissions and committees, after consultation with city staff members, on the council agenda for discussion. Additionally, I will relocate the mayor's office to the front of City Hall, allowing citizens to take advantage of my open-door policy. Since open dialogue fosters trust, I'll host town halls to allow residents to voice their ideas, ask questions, and stay informed. Suggestions from the town halls will be assigned to staff members for follow-up.
Actions to stimulate economic growth
I intend to promote our city's unique qualities, including the fact that we have influenced the world with the people trained at Fort Ord, that we provide exceptional multicultural dining experiences, and that we are the only city on the peninsula with a professional soccer team. Seaside will become a destination city with a cultural district featuring ethnic restaurants, shops, and attractions. I will work with our economic director and business leaders to establish a Downtown Association and develop a plan to recruit businesses that are friendly to people in the downtown area. In cooperation with our Downtown Association, we will sponsor sales and events that bring community members, visitors, and students from CSUMB downtown. Lastly, I will work to provide attractions such as The Seaside/Fort Ord Museum, The Seaside/Oaxaca Cultural Center, Hispanic Plaza, and a live theater.
Actions to improve the quality of Life
Our city has diverse needs, and numerous local groups have been established to address these needs. My intention is to support these groups and individual citizens and develop a system so that their input can be heard. I will continue to allocate funds in the budget for homelessness prevention, early childhood, youth, and young adult programs, as well as environmental initiatives. Additionally, I will solicit suggestions from groups such as the Neighborhood Watch to enhance community safety and prevent violence.
